Slasher movies It seems that he is living these days, provided that they have a stylish small hook that adds some glow to the sub -type. This new wave of resort no Only Slasher movies – they are tilted films with development. Enter “Heart Eyes”, shake the new dust asking, “What if it was Slasher also ROM-Com? “To add some fuel to the fire,” the eyes of the heart “also fits with the” Holiday Horror “type Christmas seems to prevail here (More than Halloween, strange enough), there are many other holidays in the calendar to turn into days of mass killing. “Heart Eyes” uses Valentine’s Day as his background, as it joins the likes of “My Bloody Valentine” and Slasher “Valentine” somewhat.
As a note, “Eyes of the Heart” has some talented on top: it descends from the horror of Inde Director Josh RobinWho brought out the wonderful dusty dust such as “Scare Me” and “fierce wolves at home”, and has a joint book (with Philip Murphy) by Christopher Landen (director behind “new happy deaths”, “Happy Death”. “Today 2u , “And” terrible “, One of the best modern havensMichael Kennedy, the writer who seems to be a specialist in modern sanctuaries with a hook (the books inverted on the body “terrible”, The Christmas Slasher “is a great knife”, and Slasher Time Time “Cut Time Cut”).
All this is promising. Indeed, “Heart Eyes” has an amazing and funny text and some amazing elegant trend – Robin has a good eye, and takes his time with his shots, until he threw the moment of Diopter divided for a good measurement. To sweeten the deal, “Eyes Heart Eyes” also has a magical and beloved Khalitan in Olivia Holt and Mason Joding, who play an uncomfortable couple trying to live all night while penetrating a masked killer and stealing their way through the legions of people. There is a lot of love here. And yet … “Eyes of the Heart” ends with a little emerging. I enjoyed most of this shake, but by the time when the third action revolves and some characters began to wander in the endless monologues, I felt that my eyes were crowded. It also does not help the movie appear completely not interested in being scary. When it comes to this terror, “Heart Eyes” is heavy on ROM-Com and very light on horror.
The eyes of the heart are ROM Som
After an entertaining introduction, “Heart Eyes” reveals that over the past two years, a serial killer known as The Heart Eyes Killer (or heck in short) has exhausted husbands on Valentine’s Day. The murderer, which includes a cold -horn -like mask with a glowing red eyes, was slaughtered, first people in Boston, then the following year he put his heart -shaped watching on Philadelphia (side: The film was shown in Philadelphia, and My Myi ascended the audience and ignores it just mentioning the city of Loew) . Now, Valentine’s Day came again, and no one knows where the killer may end after that.
In Seattle, Ally (Olivia Holt) finds itself to intimidate Valentine’s Day, not because of the killer of the heart of the heart. For one reason, she was recently dismantled with her boyfriend, and she cannot stop looking at his repeated publications on social media with his new girlfriend. For another, her job as a marketing jewelry company was subjected to danger after the recent advertising campaign – which re -rejoices the scenes of death among lovers in films – met a violent reaction. To save the company, it brought its president in an independent hot shot named Jay (Mason Juding) to put matters in its right quorum. Jay may be easy on the eyes and very charming, but an ally does not want anything with this man, worried that he shoots her job. So when Jay insists on having a commercial dinner on Valentine’s Day, Ally refuses immediately – but ends up when it seems to have no choice.
All this has standard ROM-Com signs. Jay and Ally have a funny meeting in the cafe before you really discover who is really. As many enemies from enemies to the footnote taught, they will be a matter of time only before these two crazy children fell to each other. Of course, “the eyes of the heart” casts the additives from the serial killer, which begins to chase Jay and an ally throughout the evening, and collects a heavy body along the way.
Early scenes of the heart eyes work better
The moments of the “heart eyes” that determine the table such as gangs, and Goodning helps a pair of charming strands. They have a great crackling of the background and legal chemistry that has a long way. Goodning in particular is so smooth, funny and loved here to the extent that I left the movie I want to see it in more things, immediately (seriously, make this man a star). The early moments in which ally and jay get to know each other and start falling in love, just that the eyes of the heart are the best in the movie. In fact, although I am a horror man, I must say that horror elements are the least interesting things about “heart eyes”. I have found myself, I hope this is just a com rou on its own-it really doesn’t need the angle of the cut. It is certain that it does not help the movie to run out of Steam quickly.
After you find ally and jay themselves in Crosshairs “Eyes of the Heart”, “Eyes of the Heart” begins to spin its wheels. You feel that movie makers did not think about this-they had a wonderful collection (ROM Com) but they did not know where they took it. As a result, the narration begins to decline severely. Repeat is repeated in: Jay and ALY move to one location, chanting, and watching people kill, and repeat. To excite things, the film casts two famous policemen – The Clueess Hobbs (Devon Sawa) and lovelorn shaw (Jordana Brewster), and yes, the film makes a flat joke about their names is Hobbs and Shaw, you know, like the movie? (Brewster, of course, is already part of the “Fast & Furious” privilege, which adds an additional dead element to the Gag, but it does not make it more entertaining).
The eyes of the heart are very good, but it looks like it might be better
This is all somewhat disappointing. I was completely fascinated by the first forty minutes or so from the “eyes of the heart”, and I was excited because I have a new image to adopt. But after winning, he never found the movie again. There is some fun killing here and there, but I kept looking at the movie to restore the energy of its early scenes, and never did. Even in a short 97 -minute, “Heart Eyes” ends with a long feeling, like the idea of the short film extending to length.
“Eyes of the Heart” are solid enough to entertain. The land of jokes, the wonderful strings, and the story of romance are amazingly sweet – I fully believed that Jay and an ally were dropping to each other, and it is not easy (if you do not believe me, I just know that there are about 100 made for Netflix ROM -Cons where the two strings have chemistry Zero at all). Robin’s direction remains well together, and it is possible that the (deliberate) dead will be killed from the crowd.
However, by the time when the “eyes of the heart” reaches its conclusion, everything feels that it can be somewhat forgotten. I am happy to get to the new Slasher movies, and I give “Heart Eyes” credit to try to defeat ROM -coms with horror. But with the completely amazing third verb reaching the film and giving us a comprehensive answer about Heart Eyes, the suspense has disappeared. However, as Valentine’s Day programming goes on Valentine’s Day, “Heart Eyes” has its charm.
