This activist spent 4 stressful days in the Israeli nursery, but he says he will try once again to help Gaza

Four days after Israeli detention, Thiago Avila felt comfortable to return to Brazil. He was detained, along with 11 others, and spent two days in solitary confinement, after they tried to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza by sea. Their bowl, Madleen, has been intercepted, describing what it describes as a stressful residence characterized by inhumane treatment and a short hunger strike.

However, he told the CBC News of Sao Paulo, chose to be a detainee instead of signing documents recognizing what he considered a false accusation – that they tried to enter Israel illegally.

About 20 hours after the ship intercepted, Avila, 37 hours, says she was transferred to the beach and was crowded in small police vehicles. They say they did not give the bathroom and that one of the crew is urinating in the police car.

The Israeli police did not respond to a request to comment on Avila’s time in prison.
