The US President suggests that Ukraine security guarantees may see Washington’s progress.

US President Donald Trump has ruled out the sending of US forces to Ukraine to ensure their security in the event of an agreement to end the Russian war in the country.

He was asked during an interview with Fox News on Tuesday about the assurances that he could advise that the American forces will not be deployed to defend the borders of Ukraine. Trump said: “You have a confirmation, and I am president. I just try to prevent people from killing.”

Trump said that European countries were ready to provide forces to support Ukraine security, but the United States could provide support “by air.”

“We are ready to help them in things, especially, perhaps if you talk about air, because no one has a kind of things we have,” Trump told Fox & Friend.

“I don’t think it will be a problem.”

White House press secretary Caroline Levitte later repeated that the American forces will not be part of any peace deal between Moscow and Kiev, but Washington will help in “coordination” and “may provide other means of security guarantees.”

Trump’s comments came after a day Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski and senior European leaders hosted at the White House In his last batch to end the three and a half years of conflict.

While Zelenskyy and European leaders are meeting the two meeting as positive and fruitful, the issue of how to ensure post -war security in Ukraine is still a great attached point in negotiations on ending the war.

While Zelinski said he was ready to meet Putin, Moscow did not confirm that the Russian leader would attend a summit.

On Tuesday, Ignazio Cassis, the national broadcaster, told his country that his country would be ready to host the Putin -Zelinsky Summit despite the prominent arrest warrant at the International Criminal Court of the Russian leader.

After attending Monday’s talks at the White House, French President Emmanuel Macron said he was pressing for Geneva to be a summit between the two leaders.
