“Star Trek: Voyageer” (1995-2001) was the fifth “Star Trek” series, and the third to be appointed in the twenty-third century. She arrived when the concession was in a long series of hot, after it just finished a successful series of seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, released her seventh movie in “Star Trek: Generations”, and continued in her series “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”. What’s more, “Star Trek: Voyageer” was the series that launched The Upn, a prominent owned television network that was, at the time, full of promise.
“Voyageer”, however, proved that she was slightly less popular than her counterparts in 1990. She struggled to tell interesting stories, and the classifications have always been bad. The first three seasons of the series were not received, and the audience did not start the synthesis until the presentation of seven of nine (Jerry Ryan) in the fourth season.
The hypothesis was confusing: USS Voyageer was transmitted in a magical way across the galaxy by the strong alien alien, who was looking for a possible companion. When God alien dies, Voyageer is left to be cut off 70 years of Earth in part of the galaxy that has never heard of the union. The Voyageer crew will have to rely on their intelligence and principles to survive, knowing that there was no upcoming backup. Will they make it at home? How were they even fuel? The captain of the ship, Catherine Janouway (Kate Molgro), had to become firm and more than an authoritarian mere to keep her ship in good condition. Unfortunately, The idea of a ship that works on limited resources It was not taken enough.
But within this hypothesis, many episodes of “spinning your wheels” came that did not have interesting concepts, or were only based on bad ideas. There were stupid personal moments, and many stories about Burg and Holudic. Here are the worst five episodes of the series.
5. The cutting
In “Tsunkater” (February 9, 2000), seven Nine and Tuvok (Tim Ross) were kidnapped while they were on a scanning mission, and they are held on the Slimball ball character called Penk (Jeffrey Combs). Tofuk was injured during the kidnapping, and Pink says that he will deny the medical interest in Volcan unless seven compete in the local mixed martial arts competition called Tsunat. Because it is a prisoner, seven can contact Voyageer to seek help. Imagine the surprise of Chakotai when he attends the battle of MMA and sees seven competitors, probably warrior to death. Her central opponent is a fighter over the drilling that Dwayne Johnson plays, again when It was still a credit for the rock.
I really noticed a mistake in the “TsunkaTse” story. The science fiction story about the strange underground fighting episode is sufficient, as already seen in 1989 Action “Arena”. (“Arena”, by the way, Mark Alemo and Armin Shimmerman appeared from “Deep Space Nine.”)
The “TSUNKATSE” problem is that it is not suitable for “Star Trek”. The hypothesis are the things of Action Schlocky, and devotes a lot of the episode to fight. Also, “Star Trek” has already successfully mixed stories (see: “Gamesters of Triskelion” or “Code of Honor”). “Tsungatse”, more than these, feels wandering to WWE lovers. In addition, she focused heavily on the fighting capabilities in seven, when Tofuk, Voyager’s security officer, the protagonist, was more convenient. I love the book “Voyageer” seven, however, many episodes revolve around it, even when they don’t need it.
4. The popular spirit
Early “Voyageer”, in order to provide the series with some visual diversity, we see the Holodeck language that was usually visited called Chez Sandríne, a recreation of a strange French bar on the ground. When the rating began in science, the Chez Sandríne was turned into a tropical Beach filled with half -naked models. Then, when Which – which It has not succeeded, the bikini beach has been converted into the least interesting thing so far: a strange Irish village in the nineteenth century called Fair Haven. There is nothing interesting about Fair Haven, and it seems that it has been presented as a good deed more than just an interest for the masses.
In “Spirit Folk” (February 23, 2000), it turns out that the NPC characters in Fair Haven are slowly gaining primitive awareness, and they notice when Voyageer crew colleagues such as deleting or rewriting the program in front of them (something that NPCS is not supposed to be noticed). They start calling the people of Starfleet officers, assuming that they are deities of fraudsters for destruction. They will take Tom Paris (Robert Denkan McKenil) and Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) Hadhaina. The episode will work at its peak when one of the micro parts, a handsome waiter named Michael MCKEOWN, a mobile emitter exit from the Holodeck, tells Captain Janeway – fond of it – that it is a three -dimensional image.
I may be without a heart, but it is difficult to take care of the fate of stereotypes or is interested in programming waste. The doctor (Robert Picardo) is a three -dimensional image that has all gained, of course, and Janeway should be careful when he accidentally created a new awareness, but it will be easy to delete completely fair haven. I have no connection to the fate of a fake village video game played by Voyageer characters.
3. The battle
Chakotai (Robert Peltran) It is perceived with the diversity situation in mind. Chakotay was the first nations character, the first main character in the “Star Trek” series with this distinction. He had to bring an element from spirituality to the series, which was also rarely rare for the habit “Star Trek”. All of these ideas are good. However, the problems arose with the character, when the producers of “Voyageer” Jamake Highwateer, an author called Cherokee, was actually Jackie Marx, a man born in Los Angeles and descended from the eastern European Jews. A look back at the bibliography revealed that Marx showed multiple rear stations. Marx was trusted to present the original first nations practices in “Voyageer”, but he was actually making things while he was.
So whenever Chakotai went to “search for vision” on “Voyageer”, he should have been taken with a grain of salt. These episodes were written by a non -original book who did not know anything better, and a fake Cherokee man confirmed by fraud.
Add to this the fact that “the battle” (March 24, 1999) is also an incredibly boring loop. It involves Voyager who enters a chaos, a strange area that seems to give hallucinations Chakotai. Chakotai imagines himself in a boxing ring with a foreigner, flowing and getting lessons from his elders. Halosa is associated with it with the pursuit of a vision he was trying earlier in the episode, in an attempt to communicate with psychological foreigners … or something like this. It is not so unforgettable.
“The Fight” is not clear and randomly written, and does not provide any special vision in Chakotay. It is just a festival of interesting boxing to look at it. Chakotay had such capabilities, and it was not correctly twisted.
2. Once
A man, oh, man, is this annoying.
Early “Voyageer”, a character named Samantha Weldman (Nancy Heuer) She gave birth to a daughter named Naomi. By the fifth season of the show, Naomi was a little girl played by actress Scarlett Pommers, and she became a girlfriend with seven with Nelix (Ethan Philips), Jolie Hoble Jolie. “Once” (November 11, 1998) sees Samantha injured on an external mission, and there is a very real possibility that you will die before being rescued. Instead of telling her that her mother is in danger, she takes the young Neelix NEELIX to Holudic where they give a book of eccentric children entitled “The Adventures of Flotter”. Flotter T
“Once” is bad for several reasons. On the one hand, Neelix proves to be a terrible and worse moral officer with children, unable to talk to a child about difficult topics. Neelix is not often good, and its presence is often asked on the ship. Secondly, Naomi, as the daughter of Starfleet officer, is likely to be informed that her mother’s job was dangerous, and that the risky positions like this may arise. Third, and most importantly, “Flotter adventures” is an unjust perception. I understand that the story is supposed to be trivial, and it only descends into chaos when Naomi is upset (useful metaphor), but it hurts my skull whenever the name Flotter is mentioned. Even for a fake children’s story, it absorbs “flotter”.
1. Tattoos
Just like “The Fight”, “Tattoo” (November 6, 1995) Explore the pastAnd his relationship to the heritage of his tribe. Unfortunately, we now know that it is a type of BS, which is a “tattoo” and made it look false and incully. This episode is also boring, and often the comprehensive memories of the past and overwhelmed by the wisdom of the abundant poster.
While he is on a remote planet, Chakotay and Tuvok discover a style on Earth similar to the tattoo covered by Chakotai on its temple. A mystery in full swing. In the end, it will be revealed that the indigenous people in this distant world traveled to Earth several centuries ago and visited the Chakotai tribe, their hands and other strange wisdom. Foreigners assumed that the Chakotai tribe had been eliminated, and that Chakotai explains, yes, that the indigenous Americans had been seriously subjected to abuse, but humans eventually exceeded their methods of genocide. It is a simple and molten story, but it is at least in the spirit of “Star Trek” (although it plays quickly and disintegrates with the first nations diaspora).
The above story relates to the endless flashback scenes in teenagers (Douglas Spain) with his father (Henry Daru) about the role of traditions in the twenty -fourth century. Teen Chakotay is a defect, but it will be taught a lesson during the camping trip.
According to screenwriter Michael Belller, who once talked about “tattoos” with the magazine Cinemafantastique, his text was hurried to prove that “Voyageer” can be fast. The “tattoo” is fast, but its ideas are not developed. Despite the high accident, the story is still boring, and the “wisdom” of the Chakotai tribe is a clumsy mix of original beliefs that are not actually a large foundation. “Tattoos” is bad, irresponsible, and not interesting.
