In theory, this type of engine can result in much greater energy per unit of fuel more than anything today. Plusar Fusion says its DDFD engines are expected to produce exhaust speeds about 310 mph (500 km per second).

But this technology still has a long way before it becomes available. The company aims to show the components of the power system later this year, according to an e -mail. The next step will be a test in orbit, with the aim of achieving nuclear fusion in space by 2027.

Getting the world’s first missile in the world from Earth in just two years is a noble goal.
