The United States will provide Ukraine with a new intelligence to help direct missile strikes and long -term drones on energy infrastructure in Russia, a step that represents an escalation in the role of Washington in the war.

Washington has already provides intelligence support to Ukraine, but new measures can help Kyiv to set Russian air defenses and strikes, which enhances the effectiveness of long -range drones and missiles.

Such support will also help any long -term new weapons that Washington may agree to for sale to NATO allies on the basis of which will be granted to Ukraine.

President Donald Trump said that although there was no final decision, President Donald Trump told the agencies to prepare to exchange intelligence.

One of the people familiar with the White House discussions described a “seismic transformation in the situation” inside the Trump inner circle. But the person warned that the president is still opposing the use of US taxpayer money to help Ukraine, and NATO allies prefer to buy weapons from Washington and then provide them with Kyiv.

People familiar with the American decision said that he came shortly before Trump’s fiery position on his social network in fact last week, which expressed his frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he believed that Kiev “in a situation that allows him to fight and win all Ukraine in his original form.”

Ukraine leader Foludmir Zelinski confirmed on Thursday that he recently discussed Tomahawk Cruise missiles with the US President, weapons that were at the top of the KYIV arms security list from the first days of Russia’s extensive invasion. People familiar with the White House discussions said that Trump is considering the idea.

The step will be a sharp departure from the old American policy and the previous Trump reluctance to help Ukraine to hit Russia on its soil. Former US President Joe Biden discourages Kyiv from Amazing Russian oil refineries In the spring of 2024.

Deep drone strikes in Ukraine against Russian oil refineries disrupted local supplies and diesel exports have pushed their lowest levels since 2020, I mentioned financial times last month. At least 16 of 38 Russian refineries have been hit since the beginning of August, some of them several times.

Tomahawks has a group of up to 2500 km (1500 miles), which will open a completely new set of goals inside Russia to Ukraine – and bring Moscow well in the range.

But some within the Trump circle are not convinced that they will make a big difference in the military balance. The US official said: “I do not think that a limited number of Tomahax or deep -cut strikes in Russia will change Putin’s opinion,” the US official said.

“This is a war that would never have happened if President Trump was president, something that President Putin himself confessed, and President Trump is trying to stop it. The President also negotiated a historic agreement to allow NATO allies to buy American -made weapons. We had no other ads at this time,” said White House official.

The presidential administration in Ukraine refused to comment on the intelligence participation, but it admitted that Kiev and Washington “are still in talks” on Tomaxus.

Zelenskyy said that he “suffers from a very good meeting, a very fruitful dialogue” with Trump recently about more American support, including Tomahawk missile request.

“We will see. Everything depends on Trump’s decision,” he said on the sidelines of the European Political Society in Copenhagen on Thursday. “This is important.”

Putin’s Dmitry Peskov spokesman told Russian government television that the US reflections on providing Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles were “a very serious symptom that could not pass without anyone noticing in Moscow.”

If the United States will go to the plan, Peskov said it would be “a new and dangerous escalation of tensions that require a worthy response from the Russian side.”

He added: “There is no magic bullet for (Ukraine) … No weapon can completely change the way the events play.”

Trump criticized the European Union to continue buying Russian oil and called on it to stop in exchange for supporting new new sanctions on Moscow, which aims to pressure Putin and bring him to the negotiating table.

Washington also pays NATO allies to expand their intelligence assistance to Ukraine. People familiar with this issue said that Britain is already helping some deep strikes in Russia.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Trump agreed to participate in intelligence with Kiev to help in the long -term Ukraine strikes in Russia. The president, Keel Keel, a retired public lieutenant -General of Ukraine, said the president said that the president had authorized Ukraine with long -term strikes with the weapons that made the United States.

“This is the place I think (the Ukrainians) have an opportunity to challenge Russia more strongly,” he said.

“There are no things like reserves,” he added.

The United States has provided Ukraine with HIMARS and ATACMS missiles capable of beating inside Russia. Weapons were approved and delivered to Kyiv under the leadership of Biden. But the shares of Ukraine from each of them are very limited and the use of weapons is rare at best. Kyiv has Set With them across the border inside the western regions of Russia and in the occupied Crimea.
