The Trump administration has revealed a plan to deport the Kilmaro García, a Silvadori man who was in the middle of immigration, to the southern African Kingdom of Swatini.
In an email to his lawyer, the American BBC CBS, an immigration officer said they were changing Last month’s decision to send it to Uganda.
The officer said the change had occurred after Mr. ábrego García raised fears of persecution in Uganda. He added that although allegations “are difficult to take seriously,” the American authorities “though” agreed not to send him there.
Mr. Obrego García was accidentally deported to El Salvador in March, then was returned to criminal charges.
US officials admitted at the time that he was accidentally removed.
In June, he was returned to the United States, where he was arrested and charged with human smuggling. He acknowledged that he is not guilty.
Trump officials claim that he is a member of the MS-13 gang, an accusation that also denies it.
Its deportation issue has become a pivotal point in the administration’s immigration campaign. Mr. Obrego García is not associated with Issawini, the fourth country that has been put forward as a possible deportation destination.
She was previously known as Swaziland, surrounded by South Africa and Mozambique. It is one of the last remaining absolute queens in the world, and has been led by King Mswati III since 1986.
The United States has already deported five people to Aswini, describing them as “illegal foreigners” for the country.
The move caused anxiety in the small nation that it had become a land dumped for criminals.
Eswatini has not confirmed whether she was receiving payments for the deportation deal that was delivered to the Trump administration.
The United States is the fourth largest market for the largest export in the country, sugar. Analysts suggest that Eswatini may try to protect this trade and avoid definitions.
Mr. Obrego García illegally entered the United States as a teenager of El Salvador. In 2019, he was arrested with three other men in Maryland and was detained by federal immigration authorities.
