Senior officials from the United States and China meet in London

The United States and China say they have agreed in principle on a framework to end trade tensions between the largest economists in the world.

American Trade Minister Howard Lootnick said the deal should lead to restrictions on the rare land and magnets that are resolved.

The two sides said that they will now take the plan for their presidents – Donald Trump and Jinping – to agree to it.

This announcement came two days after the negotiations in London between senior officials from Beijing and Washington.

Chinese exports of rare ground minerals, which are decisive for modern technology, were high on the agenda of meeting.

Last month, Washington and Beijing agreed on a temporary truce on commercial definitions, but every country has since been accused of violating the deal.

The United States said that China was slow to launch rare and magnetic Earth’s exports, which are necessary to manufacture everything from smartphones to electric cars.

Meanwhile, Washington is restricting China’s access to American goods such as semiconductors and other relevant techniques associated with artificial intelligence (AI).

“We have reached a framework to implement the Geneva consensus,” Lootnick told reporters.

“Once the presidents agree to this, we will then seek to implement it,” he added.

The new round of negotiations followed a phone call between Donald Trump and China’s leader Xi Jinping last week, which the American president described as “a very good conversation.”

“The two sides reached, in principle, to a framework to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state during the phone call on the fifth of June, and the consensus reached at the Geneva meeting,” said Chinese Deputy Minister of Trade Li Chengngang.

A line scheme showing us the customs tariff imposed on Chinese goods imports, and Chinese definitions on us good imports, since February 1. As of February 1, the United States put 10 % on imports from China, which increased to 20 % by March 3, 54 % by April 2, 104 % by April 8, and 145 % by April 9. Then it decreased to 30 % on May 14 when it was agreed on a temporary stop for a period of 90 days between the two countries. China imposed only 34 % of the customs tariff on US imports on April 3, 84 % on April 9, and 125 % on April 11. Then he decreased to 10 % on May 14.

When Trump announced a comprehensive tariff for imports from a number of countries earlier this year, China was the most difficult blow. Beijing responded at its high rates of American imports, which increases the excess of the nipples of 145 %.

in May, The talks in Switzerland led to a temporary truce Trump called “full reset.”

We raised the customs tariff for Chinese products to 30 %, while Beijing reduced the fees on US imports to 10 % and promised to raise barriers on critical metal exports. Both sides gave a 90 -day deadline to try to reach a commercial deal.

But the United States and China have since claimed violations of non -carrier pledges.

The American commercial actor, Jameson Jarir, said China has failed to restrict restrictions on rare Earth magnet exports.

Beijing said that the USA’s violations of the agreement included stopping sales of computer chips design programs for Chinese companies, warning against the use of chinese technology giant Huawei and the abolition of visas for Chinese students.

Before this week’s talks, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Saturday that it had approved some requests for rare land export licenses, although there were no details of the countries that participated.

Trump said on Friday that Shi had agreed to re -trade in rare ground materials.
