“The United States is not the victim …”: GTRI founder says that India is nourishing an American surplus of $ 40 billion

Ajay Srivastava, founder of the World Trade Research Initiative, says that Washington’s deficit complaints ignore an American surplus hidden $ 40 billion.

In a note from LinkedIn, Srivastava dismantled the old American narration of the trade balance with India, and New Delhi warned against waiving the continuous free trade agreement talks (FTA).

Srivastava has warned that American negotiators use a deficit to push India to reduce customs tariffs and relaxation rules in areas such as digital trade, IP and government purchases – as American companies already dominate.
