TPS will end for more than 6000 Syrians who have been able to reach the legal situation since 2012, according to the Federal Register notification on Friday.
“The circumstances in Syria no longer prevent their citizens from returning to the homeland,” said a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Security, Tricia McLeulin, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Security.
“Syria was a hotbed of terrorism and extremism for nearly two decades, and unlike our national interest to allow Syrians to stay in our country.”
The statement said that the Syrian citizens who are currently living in the United States have 60 days to voluntarily leave the country and return home.
She said: “After the expiration of 60 days, any Syrian citizen was accepted under TPS who did not start the voluntary removal procedures will be subject to detention and deportation.”
Trump, a Republican, sought to end a temporary legal status for hundreds of thousands of immigrants in the United States, including some who lived and worked in the country legally for decades.
The administration said that deportation protection was excessive in use in the past and that many immigrants no longer deserve protection.
Democrats and preachers told immigrants that the registered TPS can be forced to return to dangerous conditions and that American employers depend on their work.
Trump has already finished the position of Venezuelan, Honduranians, Haitians, Nicaragua, Ukrainians and thousands of others.
