The United Kingdom supports a joint invitation to Israel to allow foreign media to enter Gaza

The United Kingdom is among the 27 countries that support a statement calling for Israel to allow access to the immediate independent foreign media to Gaza.

France, Germany, Australia and Japan also signed The text issued by the Media Freedom Alliance – An international government group calling for the rights and protection of journalists worldwide.

The statement also condemned attacks on journalists, saying that those who work in Gaza should be protected.

International journalists have been prevented by Israel from entering the Gaza Strip independently since the beginning of the war almost two years ago. Some journalists were transferred to Gaza by the Israeli Defense Army under control.
