The British authorities accused three Iranian citizens of helping to “assist foreign intelligence ceremonies”, which represents a new stage in a Anti -writing investigation Targeting Iranian activities within the United Kingdom.

Metropolitan police announced the charges under the National Security Law of 2023 against Mustava Sibahvand, 39, Javadi Manish, 44, and Shabor Qali Khani Nuri, 55, all of the London residents originally arrested on May 3.

The trio of Iran’s support was conducted between August 14, 2024 and February 16, 2025, according to The Met.

Sepahvand faces additional charges related to monitoring and surveillance activities with the intention of committing serious violence within the United Kingdom. Manish and Nuri are accused of facilitating this violence through their actions.

The arrests were part of a broader effort to combat terrorism in which eight Iranian citizens were detained in two separate operations on May 3.

While three individuals were charged, the remaining five individuals are still under investigation, as one was released on a conditional bail.

The UK National Security Law 2023 grants law enforcement powers to reinforce the threats posed by foreign countries. Article 27 of the law allows the arrest of individuals suspected of participating in foreign energy threat activities without a judicial order.

“These are very dangerous concerns under the National Security Law, which came with a very complex and fast investigation,” said Commander Dominic Murphy of the Met Counter Terrorism.

The Iranian government did not immediately comment on the arrests.
