On Tuesday, the University of Pennsylvania amended a triple of school records set by the transgender swimmers Leah Thomas and said that she will apologize for “deprived” mathematics through her participation in the women’s swimming team, which is part of a decision of federal civil rights.

The US Department of Education and Penn announced the volunteer agreement of the prominent issue that focused on Thomas, who last time at Ivy League school in 2022, when she became the first sexual athlete to win the first -class league title.

The department in Pennsylvania has achieved part of the Trump administration’s wider attempt to remove sexually transformed athletes from girls and women, and the university concluded in Philadelphia mathematics rights.

According to the agreement, Ben agreed to restore all the records of the first section and titles for mathematics who lost to Thomas and sent a letter dedicated to each of these swimmers, according to the Ministry of Education.

By Tuesday noon, Penn showed the other athletes who have the most important times in the school in Thomas events. The site was explained by a note I read, “competing according to the rules of eligibility in force at that time, LIA Thomas recorded the program’s records at 100, 200 and 500 frees during the 2021-22 season.”

“While Pennsylvania’s policies during the 2021-2022 swimming season were according to NCAA’s NGOs at that time, we admit that some athletes were deprived of these rules,” said President of Jerry Jameson. “We are aware of this and we will apologize to those who have suffered a competitive defect or witnessed anxiety due to the policies in force at that time.”

Thomas did not respond to a request for comment sent to her representatives.

As part of the settlement, the university must also declare that it “will not allow males to compete in female sports programs” and must adopt the “biology” definitions of males and females.

In his statement, Jameson said that Pennsylvania has always been compatible with the NCAA and IX Title bases as explained at that time, and that the university has never enjoyed its own policies on sexually transformed sporting participation. He said that the school has followed changes to eligibility guidelines when it was issued earlier this year. NCAA changed its participation policy for transgender athletes in February, which limits competition in women’s sport for athletes who were appointed to females at birth.

Jameson said: “Our commitment to guarantee a respectable environment and an effort to all of our students is not shaken,” Jameson said. “At the same time, we must adhere to federal requirements, including executive orders and NCAA, so our teams and sports students may participate in competitive sport between colleges.”

The Minister of Education, Linda McMahon, described it as a victory for women and girls.

“The administration praises its previous damage against women and girls, and we will continue to fight unabated to restore the implementation of the correct ninth title and impose it fully to the law,” McMahon said in a statement.

The former swimmer thanked the University of Kentucky Riley Jins, President Donald Trump for social media and wrote about the settlement, “Are pigs flying?” Genins said she started her activity against sexually transformed athletes competing in women’s sports after participating the dressing room with Thomas in the NCAA 2022 championship.

The Ministry of Education opened its investigation in February and concluded in April that Pennsylvania had violated the ninth door, a law of 1972 that prohibits sex discrimination in education. These results have always been resolved through volunteer agreements. If Ben has fought this conclusion, it is possible that the administration will move to refer the case to the Ministry of Justice or follow a separate process to reduce the federal financing of the school.

In February, the Ministry of Education asked NCAA and the National Union of Government Secondary Schools, or NFSHSA, to restore addresses, prizes and records that they say “mixed by the biological males competing in female groups.”

It was the most clear goal at the college level in women’s swimming, as Thomas won the national title in 500 free yards in 2022.

NCAA updated its records when employment and other violations stripped titles from some schools, but the organization, such as NFSHSA, did not respond to the federal government’s request and did not respond to emails seeking to comment on Tuesday. It was not clear how he would define any of the events in which the transgender athletes participated after years.
