The striker’s future at Leeds depends on Joe Gelhardt

Patrick Bamford’s future will depend on whether or not Leeds United allow Joe Gelhardt to leave in January, according to reports.

Bamford enjoyed some incredible highs during his time as a Leeds player, including scoring 16 goals to lead them to promotion to the Premier League in 2019/20 – followed by 17 goals in 38 Premier League matches the following season.

The former Leeds United star feels the club will part ways with the 28-year-old in 2025!

But recently, the former Chelsea and Middlesbrough striker has had more battles with injuries than other midfielders.

This has seen Bamford drop down the pecking order at Elland Road, and this season, he has played just 102 minutes across eight substitute appearances in the Championship, with his only start coming in the EFL Cup.

Bamford will be more disappointed by the lack of game time given Leeds have often struggled for numbers in attack this season.

However, recently, Joel Piro has been in strong form, scoring four goals and two assists in his last nine appearances in the tournament.
