The second generation Kindle Scribe is on sale for the first time

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to upgrade your Kindle Scribe, now wouldn’t be a bad time — Amazon is having its first sale on the new model, which has only been around for a month. The second-generation Kindle Scribe features white bezels around the screen and green (Metallic Jade) or gray (Tungsten) borders, in contrast to the previous model’s thick black borders. The discount applies to both colors and, for the gray version, all storage options (16GB, 32GB and 64GB). when We liked the new design and found the reading and writing experiences smooth.

The new Kindle Scribe uses artificial intelligence to help you organize and summarize your notes, with summary and optimization tools — and you can apply them to individual pages or your entire notebook. These features worked well for us. In her review, Engadget’s deputy reviews editor, Sherilyn Lu, found that the writer was able to “understand the disorganized plan” she wrote by correctly placing menu items in sequential order, and saw “largely accurate results” when her notes were summarized. “Any mistake made by the system was reasonable, because my handwriting is very bad,” she wrote.

There’s also now a better way to write directly on eBooks. With the Kindle Scribe for 2024, Amazon introduced Active Canvas — a little box that will pop up when you put your pen to whatever you’re reading. The box can be resized and will not disappear when you leave the page. You’ll also soon be able to write with foldable margins, a feature expected to arrive early this year. The relatively high cost was one of our biggest complaints about the new Kindle Scribe, so if you like it, don’t miss your chance to get it at a discount.
