The European Central Bank is seen as a direct response to the ongoing war between India and Pakistan. The report alluded to the increasing influence of former BCCI minister, Jay Shah, who is currently working as head of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has long -term links with the European Central Bank.

“When the soldiers die on the border, we cannot continue,” the cricket official was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

The relations between BCCI and ECB were strong over the years, especially after India hosted half and the full IPL season in addition to the entire 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
