The group of students supporting the Palestinians says it has organized a demonstration to protest against the university from “imperial violence”.

Dozens of pro -Palestinian activists protested at Columbia University in the United States.

Social media shots showed that demonstrators stand on the tables, chanting and hitting drums inside the university’s main library.

The University of Colombia said the apartheid, a student group supporting the Palestinians, that it occupied the library to protest the university’s ties to Israel.

The group said in 2017: “More than 100 people flooded the Bater Library and called it the famous university, Basel Arj,” the group said in 2017.

“The flood shows that as long as Colombia and its profits are funded by imperial violence, people will continue to disrupt the profits and legitimacy of Colombia. Repression generates resistance – if Colombia escalates repression, people will continue to escalate the turmoil in this campus.”

Claire Sheepman, the Acting President at the University of Colombia, condemned the demonstration as “completely unacceptable.”

Sheepman said that university officials contacted the police after the demonstrators rejected requests to submit identity and leave the building.

“It will not be tolerated with the disturbances of our academic activities, which are violations of our rules and policies, and this is not in particular acceptable while our students study and prepare for the final exams,” Shaibman said in a statement.

“Colombia condemns the power of violence in our university campus, anti -Semitism and all forms of hatred and discrimination, which we have seen today.”

Chipman said that two public safety officers in Colombia were injured when individuals tried to break their way to the building.

“Many individuals who did not comply with verbal warnings” were detained, “the New York Police Administration said in a statement.
