On Saturday, the office of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urged the United States government to revoke its decision to cancel its visa, weeks before it aims to appear at the annual meeting of the United Nations and an international conference on establishing a Palestinian state.

The Foreign Ministry revealed on Friday that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled Abbas visas and 80 other officials before the United Nations General Assembly meeting next month. Palestinian actors appointed to the United Nations mission have been granted exceptions.

This step is the latest in a series of steps taken by the Trump administration to target Palestinians with visa restrictions.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Rubio also ordered some new visa requests from Palestinian officials, including those who are associated with the Palestine Liberation Organization, which will be rejected.

“It is the National Security Authority to have PLO and PA accountability for not compliance with their obligations and undermine the prospects for peace,” the statement said.

The Palestinian Authority condemned the visa as a violation of the American obligations as a host of the United Nations.

Abbas addressed the General Assembly for many years and leads the Palestinian delegation in general.

“We call on the American administration to reflect its decision. This decision will increase tension and escalation only,” Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Roditin said on Saturday.

“We have been in contact since yesterday with the Arab and foreign countries, especially those who are interested directly on this issue. This effort will continue around the clock,” he said.

He urged other countries to pressure the Trump administration to reverse the decision.

European Union countries are a Palestinian leader

French Foreign Minister Jean -Noel Barrot protested the restrictions of reaching the United Nations General Assembly, and said he would discuss the issue with the European Union’s counterparts.

“The United Nations headquarters is a place for neutrality, a haven for peace, where conflicts are resolved,” said on Saturday. “The United Nations General Assembly … it cannot suffer from any restrictions on arrival.”

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he spoke with Abbas on Saturday to tell him that Madrid supported him and called for the “unfair” visa denial.

Ali X said, “Palestine has the right to hear its voice at the United Nations and in all international forums.”

This step came from the United States as an Israeli army The largest city in Gaza announced the fighting area. Israel says Gaza is still the stronghold of Hamas.
