Al Jazeera condemned the Palestinian Authority’s decision to suspend its work in the occupied West Bank and close its office in Ramallah. On New Year’s Day, the Ministers of Culture, Interior and Communications issued a joint decision accusing Al Jazeera of broadcasting “deceptive and seditious” material. The move came after the Palestinian Authority criticized the network for its coverage of the ongoing confrontation between Palestinian security forces and armed fighters in the Jenin refugee camp.
