The orders of the Nile Center to get out of the Turkish Airlines rental deal by August 31

The center has directed Indigo To end their rental arrangement with Turkish airlines within three months, which represents a big step against the Turkish carrier.

This development follows the recent cancellation of the security clearance of Celebi Aviation, a Turkish treatment company operating at nine major airports in India, including Delhi.

Indigo is currently flying from the Boeing 777-300er aircraft obtained through a wet rental contract from Turkish Airlines. Although the rental contract was valid until May 31, the airline is close to the Ministry of Civil Aviation to expand the ranking for another six months. The request has been rejected.

In official communication, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that the larger contract for Indigo for the two Turkish aircraft expired on May 31. The organizer explained that the ministry rejected the extension proposal and instead offered a short -term mitigation.

“To avoid the immediate disturbance of passenger services, the last three -month extension was granted until August 31,” said DGCA. He also made it clear that this extension will not be renewed under any circumstances.

“Indigo has been granted another extension and once for a period of three months of up to 31.08.2025 for these wet rental aircraft, based on the pledge from the airline that will end this wet contract with Turkish airlines during this extension period, and they do not request any additional extension of these operations.”

Indigo also maintains a partnership with Codshare with Turkish Airlines.

At the beginning of 2023, Indigo signed a wet rental contract with Turkish airlines in order to address the capacity restrictions caused by the establishment of the Airbus A320neo fleet due to the problems of the PRATT & Whitney engine. Boeing 777s, which was able to accommodate up to 500 passengers, was effective in maintaining international aviation services in Indigo.

The airline requested a six -month extending under a new policy that allows airlines to rent a six -month rental plane, which can be extended for an additional six months by the organizer. The Nile received the lease contract of these aircraft in November last year.

After geopolitical tensions in India with Pakistan and Turkey’s support for Pakistan, DGCA only agreed to half of the period on Friday.
