The Nigerian army says it has killed dozens of bandits in Zamvara State

The army said that the Nigerian Air Force killed dozens of militants, known locally as the “bandits”, who were members of the criminal gangs operating in the state of Zamvara.

The Air Force said in a statement on Monday that it had a raid in the Makakari Forest, northwest of Nigeria, which was the hideout of the militants who were believed to have left some prominent kidnappings in the area.

She said that she conducted the operation after the observation discovered more than 400 gang members preparing to attack a village.

Over the past two weeks, armed gangs have targeted nearby settlements, killing the degrees and kidnapping many. At least 13 security personnel were killed.

Air Force spokeswoman Airodor Ehmeen Eudemi said the air strikes, in coordination with the attacks on the ground, led to the death of “many thieves and dozens of their feet soldiers.”

He added that the ground forces intercepted and killed others who were trying to escape from the forest.

In parts of Nigeria, the kidnapping of the ransom has become a profitable work for some.

The thieves, which stimulates financial gains, also increased their cooperation with the jihadist groups, which were launching a 16 -year -old armed rebellion in the northeast.

In recent years, the army has launched a number of gangs against gangs, including last month when at least 95 gang members – but violence continued.
