Azerbaijan from Azerbaijan Arguj Kalantarli notes “an unimaginable human catastrophe” in Gaza, in Palestine, the member state.

The Secretary -General of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) was elected in a session held in Baku, according to Azerbaijan Individuals Agency (APA)

The Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Stances in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel Arjoj Kalantarley, was unanimously elected.

Kalantarli gave a speech, highlighting the “unimaginable human catastrophe” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, noting that Palestine is a member state of ICDO.

He said, “Food, water, medicine and shelter, these are no longer the basic rights,” he said. He added that “their Palestinian loved ones slide through our fingers.”

ICDO is an international governmental organization that contributes to the development of systems by countries to help protect population, property and the environment from disasters and natural or human -made conflicts.

The candidates were four members of the organization – Azerbaijan, Serbia, Burkina Faso, and Tunisia – to run for this position.
