Marco Eibn was one of the most wanted fugitives in Europe to smuggle drugs from Brazil to the Netherlands.

A condemned drug king from the Netherlands – who is considered one of the most wanted criminals in Europe – was killed in a gun battle in Mexico.

The authorities said on Friday that Marco Eiben, 32, fought in Atzaban de Zarqasa, a municipality of 25 km (15 miles) from Mexico City.

Eiben, who was once falsified, was killed in an exchange of fire in a car park outside the Mexican capital on Thursday.

Experts confirmed the identity of Eiben, an official in the state prosecutor’s office, to the news agency, to Agence France -Presse, who asked not to be named because they were not allowed to discuss the case.

The European Employment Agency has listed EURPOL EPN as one of the “wanted fugitives” in Europe to smuggle drugs from Brazil to the Netherlands.

Its website says it was sentenced in the absence of October 2020 for more than seven years in prison. He has been able to evade arrest since this sentence was distributed.

In May 2024, EBBEN spoke to the Dutch regional broadcaster Rijnmond to say that he has nothing to do with a series of explosions targeting a plumber in Vlaardingen.

Between 2014 and 2015, it was claimed that Eiben and his partners have smuggled 400 kg (880 rugs) of cocaine in containers full of pineapple, according to Europol.

To evade the arrest, it was said that the Dutch forged his death last October in the Mexican Cartican stronghold of Kolakan amid the grass war between two factions of Cartel Sinalua.

According to news reports, Eiben was accused of links to one of the factions, but no evidence of his death was found at that time, except for a statement from an alleged friend who claimed to recognize the body.

Violence in Sinwa follows his sudden arrest on the soil of the co -founder of Cartel, Ismail “Mayo” Zambada in late July, which is believed to have launched an internal struggle for power.

Also on Friday, the Mexican authorities said that they had arrested a drug trafficking in the active suspect in the northern state of Chihuwa, which was required by the United States.

The Mexican media defined it as Hamberto Rivera, also known as “EL Chato”, “El Donjon” or “El Viejon”.
