The police in Mexico arrested a retired judge accused of manipulating evidence related to the disappearance of 43 students from IGUALA more than a decade.
Lambertina Galiana Marien was the head of the Supreme Court of Justice in Guerrero when the teachers lost the trainees in 2014.
The 79 -year -old is suspected of providing an order that led to the disappearance of CCTV shots, which investigators said was the key to the case.
She was arrested in ChilPancinggo, three years after her arrest was issued.
The disappearance of the 43 students – who all attended the teachers training college itself in Ayotzinaba – have long been haunted in Mexico.
After more than a decade, despite many investigations, much is still unknown to what happened on the night of September 26, 2014.
The remains of three students were found, while the place of the forty others is still a mystery, although they are widely assumed that they were killed.
Report 2022 by the Truth Committee The Mexican government, by investigating the case, has found a crime sponsored by the state related to federal and state powers.
According to the committee’s report, the local police worked with members of a criminal group that disappears students by force.
Students went to Iguala to lead buses to move them to an annual protest in Mexico.
The Mexican government said that both the police and a local criminal group known as Guerreros Unidos (UNIDED WARRIORS) had been alerted to students’ activities.
The report claimed that UNIDS students are suspected that students who seized buses in IGUALA were infiltrated by competing criminal gang members, Los Roger, according to the report.
He added that both the police and members of Guerreros Unidos then installed many road barriers in and around the city.
One of the road barriers, run by the local, state and state police, was outside the Palace of Justice.
Two of the Justice Palace employees told the investigators that the security cameras in the palace had seized what happened at the road checkpoint.
However, the shots have never been delivered to the authorities, and when officials tried to recover them about a year later, investigators said in 2015.
The prosecutors have already claimed that Mrs. Galliana has given it to destroy or delete the shots.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Security in Mexico said that Mrs. Galliana will face accusations of enforced disappearance.
