After being sacked as coach of Plymouth Argyle due to a poor run of results, Wayne Rooney is set to get a role in today’s match as one of the regular pundits.
The former Manchester United and Everton legend – and the Red Devils’ all-time top goalscorer – was recently James Maddison named him the greatest Premier League player of all time.

Rooney would have liked to play for Celtic During his career, it did not work out, as did his coaching spells at Derby County, DC United, Birmingham City, and Plymouth.
Having previously worked successfully as an analyst when his managerial services were not required, it is perhaps not surprising to understand that he could now become a regular pundit on the revamped Match of the Day.

The sun Note that he could receive up to £200,000 for his work on the show and the outlet quoted a source as saying;
“Cash is one of a number of options open to Wayne for future. He worked alongside Gary (Lineker) and his teammates at the Euros last summer, and was a huge hit with viewers.
“He is also very popular with his forensic knowledge and love of the game.

“Match of the Day and a couple of other broadcasters are interested in adding him to their programmes.
He added: “Wayne and the BBC are in an early stage of negotiations but they look promising and it is taking some time to decide exactly what he wants to do next.”
If there’s one thing that Rooney can’t take issue with in terms of his analysis it’s “vanilla”.
The 39-year-old rarely stands aside with one or two opinions, and in that sense he is a charismatic figure.
