France 24 spoke to Iuliia Mendel, who was a spokeswoman for Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski from 2019 to 2021. She is the author of the book “The Battle of Our Life: My Time with Zelinski, the Battle of Ukraine for Democracy, and what does the world mean.” In an interview with British journalist Pears Morgan on Tuesday, the Ukrainian president said he was ready to negotiate directly with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. Mendel described this as “a very realistic approach”, saying that “the continuation of this war of this attrition makes us weaker.” Mendel added that “the majority of people (in Ukraine) definitely agree (for the need to stop the shooting.”
