Caravans have formed every year since, although they have become more frequent and smaller over time, in an attempt to attract less attention.
The nationality of the people in the caravans also changed. In 2018, most people came from Central America. More recently, in a reflection of changing migration patterns, Venezuelans constitute the largest single group. People from other South American countries can also be found. One woman in a recent caravan had brought her Bible from Peru.
