The Israeli Defense Minister says that it ordered its army to prepare a plan to transfer all Palestinians in Gaza to a camp in the southern region.

Israel Katz told reporters on Monday that he wanted to create a “human city” on the ruins of a city of Rafah to accommodate about 600,000 Palestinians – and eventually 2.1 million people.

He said that the goal is to bring people inward after the security examination to ensure that they were not Hamas agents, and that they will not be allowed to leave.

He added that the permitted conditions will start construction during a 60 -day ceasefire, as Israel and the enthusiasm of negotiation are trying.

A Israeli human rights lawyer condemned it as no less than “an operational plan for a crime against humanity.”

“It is all about the transfer of the population to the southern end of the Gaza Strip in preparation for deportation outside the tape,” Michael Sevard told the Guardian newspaper.

The United Nations has previously warned that the deportation or transfer of civilian population in the occupied region is strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law and “as ethnic cleansing.”

There was no immediate comment from the Palestinian Authority or Hamas.

Later on Monday, during a meeting at the White House, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu talked about the proposal of US President Donald Trump that the post -war United States in Gaza and resettle its residents permanently will take over elsewhere.

Netanyahu said: “I think President Trump has a great vision.

“We are working with the United States closely about finding countries that will always seek what they say – they want to give Palestinians a better future.”

“We have a great cooperation from … the surrounding countries, and the great cooperation of each of them. So, something good will happen,” Trump said.

In March, the Arab countries supported the Egyptian alternative with a value of $ 53 billion (39 billion pounds) for Trump’s plan to rebuild Gaza, which would allow the Palestinians living there to stay in place.

They also stressed “their categorical rejection of any form of displacement of the Palestinian people,” describing this idea as “a serious violation of international law, a crime against humanity and ethnic cleansing.”

The Palestinian Authority and Hamas also supported the Egyptian plan, but the United States and Israel said it failed to address the facts in Gaza.

The Palestinians are afraid of repeating the Nakba – the Arabic word for a “disaster” – when hundreds of thousands of their homes fled and during the war that followed the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.

It ended with many of these refugees in Gaza, where they and their offspring are three quarters of the population. Another 900,000 registered refugees live in the occupied West Bank, while 3.4 million people live in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, according to the United Nations.

The Israeli army launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented attack across the border on October 7, 2023, where about 1,200 people were killed and 251 grooves were taken.

More than 57,500 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health in the region.

Most of the people of Gaza were displaced several times. More than 90 % of homes are estimated at damage or destruction; Healthcare, water, sanitation and hygiene systems collapsed; There is a lack of food, fuel, medicine and shelter.
