The IPL 2025 qualifying schedule has been announced; BCCI adds an additional hour to the league matches

BCCI announced, on Tuesday (May 20), the schedule of the IPL 2025 and the final. While the championship was already scheduled to end with the final on May 23, BCCI had to change the schedule due to tension across the border with Pakistan.

The tournament was suspended on May 9 for a week before its resumption on May 17 with the match between Kolkata Knight Rides and Royal Challeners Bengaluru. The final is now scheduled to play on June 3.

Before the comment, Hyderabad and Kolkata were already setting to host the qualifying and final matches. BCCI stated that the new qualifiers were identified by the IPL board, taking into account the weather conditions and other parameters.

The Council announced that the first two matches of the IPL 2025 qualifiers will be played at the new PCA stadium at New Chandigarh. The first qualified place will host on May 29. It will be played between the teams that end at the top of the two points. The remover will also be played between the third and fourth teams in Chandigar on May 30.

Also, BCCI added an additional hour to the remaining IPL 2025 league matches.

“Similar to the qualifying stage, an additional hour will be allocated to play conditions for the remaining matches for the league stage, starting on Tuesday, May 20,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, three teams – Gujarat Joghbara, the Royal Competitors of Bengaluru and Logins have already reserved their positions in the final. The Indians in Mumbai and Delhi are the capitals of commitment now to compete for the remaining qualifying spot.
