The Internet archive updates its GIF GIF search engine

Make the Internet archive easy to search for GIF images dating back to the 1990s. gifcities It contains millions of animation from the fans of vanilla and Nazi soup. GIF photos were pulled from old Geocities Web pages, which (mostly) bit dust in 2009.

The new version of GIFCITIES is much easier to search. You can now search semantically, based on animation content. In other words, you are likely to present the topic or scene you are looking for by describing it. In the old version of Gifcities, you can only search for the file name. (If you feel Mazushi, you can still reach this version on the “Special Search” tab.)

The updated GIFCITIES now uses the numbering of pages. This is a good thing, because the infinite scroll of the old version can make slow browsing. You can also create and share “gifgrams”. As the name suggests, these are a customized radiation made of these old animated images.

Internet archive GIFCITIES launched in 2016 To celebrate the twentieth anniversary. If you are very small so that it cannot be known, GeoCities was an early web hosting service. It is an introduction to social media, which was full of embarrassing fans pages, personal photo albums and “under construction”. (You will find a lot from the latter in this search engine) They survived another contract.
