The group says of the rebel prime minister in the Israeli air strike, says the group

The Iranian -backed Houthis said on Saturday that an Israeli air strike killed the prime minister of the rebel -controlled government in the Yemeni capital, SANA.

The rebels said in a statement that Ahmed Al -Rahwi was killed in a strike on Thursday in SANA with a number of ministers.

The Israeli army said on Thursday that it “strictly hit a military target for the Houthi terrorist in the SANA area in Yemen.”

The rebel statement said that Al -Rahwi, who held the position of Prime Minister of the Houthi -led government since August 2024, was targeted with other members of his Houthi government during a routine workshop held by the government to evaluate its activities and performance during the past year.

The Houthis fired rockets against Israel over and over all over the Israel war against Hamas in Gaza. The group says that the attacks are in solidarity with the Palestinians. Although most of the missiles launched by Yemen by Israel or divided into the air intercepted, this did not do much to deter the attacks.

Earlier this week, Israeli strikes hit multiple areas throughout SANA, killing at least 10 people and wounding 102 others, according to the Ministry of Health and government officials run by Houthi.

The Houthis launched missiles and drones towards Israel and the ships targeted in the Red Sea throughout the Israel war against Hamas in Gaza. The rebels say their attacks are in solidarity with the Palestinians.

In response to the Houthi attacks, Israel and the US -led coalition bombed the rebel areas of Yemen, including SANA and the strategic coastal city of Hodida. Israeli strikes hit SANA Airport outside the service in May.

The Trump administration announced a deal with the Houthis to end the air strikes in exchange for ending the attacks on the shipment in May. However, the rebels said that the agreement does not include stopping attacks on the targets believed to be compatible with Israel.
