The Ministry of Consumer Affairs allowed manufacturers, professionals and importers to continue selling products with the old MRPS and packing until December 31, 2025, following the recent discounts in the commodity and services tax rate. However, companies were assigned to announce the decreased prices and ensure that consumers benefit from tax cuts.

According to a notice issued according to the legal measurement rules (bottled goods), 2011, companies can announce the price of revised retail (MRP) on shares that are not sold through seal, posters, or online printing. The original MRP should be offered, and the revised price cannot exceed the increase or decrease in taxes due to goods and services tax changes.

The circular also directs companies to the issuance of at least two ads in newspapers about the revised prices and notify merchants, distributors and the legal standards department.

It also shows that old printed packaging materials can be used before goods and services tax changes until the end of December or until stocks are exhausted, either before, provided that corrections are made for the updated MRP display.
