The government allows the export of the second generation of ethanol

The government issued a notification that allows the export of the second generation of ethanol with an immediate effect. The General Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said of its notification.

DGFT said that the export of the second generation of ethanol “is allowed for fuel and non -fuel purposes, taking into account a valid export and certificate of subjects from the relevant competent authority.”

Ethanol is produced from the second generation through cellulose materials such as Bagasse and Wood Gaster and other renewable resources, industrial waste, and lavish surfing diseases, for example. Residues of agriculture and forests such as rice and wheat wheat, corn and subjective, wooden biomass, non -nutritional crops such as herbs, algae and residue tables. The second generation of ethanol has low carbon dioxide emissions or high greenhouse gases, and does not compete with dietary crops for land use.

It also meets is 15464 specifications that indicate the requirements, methods of taking samples and testing methods of non -anxious ethanol, which is used as a mixed component with gasoline for car fuel.

Separately, the Minister of Federation, Brald Joshi, urged, earlier this month, biofuel producers to enhance ethanol production to take advantage of global export opportunities. In his speech before the India and Biological Conference for two days, 2025, organized by the Association of Biological Energy and Biotropical Manufacturers (ISMA), he also stressed India’s achievements in mixing ethanol, energy security, and rural development.

According to ISMA data from July 2025, India has reached its goal of mixing Ethanol by 20 percent with gasoline five years before the specified date. The mixing rate increased significantly from 1.5 percent when the program started in 2014.
