The frozen taquitos recalled at ALDI may contain metals, the chain says

ALDI remembers The company said this week that it had frozen some of its taquitos after reports emerged that the product contained “possible foreign substances.”

The product is distributed to ALDI locations in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, and North Dakota. , New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, rhode island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

“ALDI puts the safety and integrity of the products it sells first,” the company said in a statement. “If customers have products affected by this recall, we encourage them to dispose of them immediately or return them to their local store for a full refund.”

“ALDI deeply regrets the inconvenience and concern caused by this recall.”

Frozen food recalls involving metal contamination are uncommon, but not extremely rare. Last August, Perdue Foods LLC recalled more than 165,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and chicken strips due to reports of metal contamination.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the recall after it received “consumer complaints” about the presence of metal wires in chicken nuggets and tenders.
