French Prime Minister Francois Bayro fought on Wednesday to contain a new controversy after the lawmakers urged him to explain whether he was aware of widespread demands for sexual assault on minors at a Catholic school. Prosecutors in France are investigating about a hundred complaints about alleged violence, sexual assault and rape committed at the Notre Dame de Betaram, which was attended by Bayro’s children, in the southwest of the country between the 1970s and nineties.
