The French movie icon Gerard Debardio, which is condemned by sexual assault on the collection of films

On Tuesday, a court in Paris found French actor Gerard Depardio with sexual assault on two women in a film that was appointed in 2021 and handed him a 18 -month prison sentence.

In one of the highest #Metoo cases that come before the judges in France, DePardieu, a tall figure of French cinema, has repeatedly denied any violations. But Judge Terry Donard said that Depardio’s interpretation of the events was unconvincing.

One of the plaintiffs, Ameli K., a specific decoration, told the court that the actor may touch her throughout her body while he besieged her between his legs and made clear sexual comments.

“I touched everything, including my breasts,” she told the court. “I felt terrified, and he was laughing.” The judge said as president that two witnesses confirmed on her account while Depardio was contradictory in his own novels.

The #Metoo protest movement has struggled with sexual violence in order to obtain the same traction in France as in the United States, although there are signs that social positions towards sexual assault may change.
