A court in southern India has sentenced a prominent politician in the state of Karnataka to life imprisonment after being convicted of raping his local employee.
Bragawal Rivana, a political family influential in the state, occurred on Saturday – a day after he was convicted of sexual assault on his former employee.
These allegations appeared against the 34 -year -old Indian MP in 2023 after hundreds of explicit videos that appeared to spread on social media began, causing anger throughout the country.
Revanna denied the charges. On Friday, he collapsed and called for a lesser penalty when he was convicted.
He can appeal against the ruling.
