The authorities in the state of Florida announced the first known attack in the state.
One or more bears of Robert Markle, a 89 -year -old man, with his dog, was killed in Coller County, according to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee in Florida (FWC), as mentioned before USA today. The attack comes as FWC Vision Restarting the “Organized Bear Hunting” for the first time since 2015 in response to the increasing bear.
On Monday morning, May 5, Marcil’s daughter 911 contacted after she saw an attack on the bear and killed her father’s dog, according to the authorities, the United States of America said today. When officials arrived at the scene, they also found the body of Marcil. Marcil and his dog died on Marcil’s property, but at different times.
“When there is a loss of life, we are all affected by this, we are very sorry that this has happened,” the committee spokesman Tyson Matthews said at a press conference, according to the United States of America today. Within 24 hours of Marcil’s death, wildlife officers created cameras and traps at the site of the attack, killing three black bears. The remnants of these bears are now in Gensville, Florida, to test the DNA to confirm whether any of the three or all of the animals are involved in the deadly attack, according to what he said New York Times.
“Upon and caution, we urge residents and visitors to continue to stay vigilant and avoid the region,” FWC said in a statement mentioned by the United States of America today. “Do not approach or try to track wildlife. Law enforcement employees and FWC continue to monitor the bear activity and ensure public safety.” Monday’s attack is the second bear that was reported in Florida this year, according to Napoli Daily News.
In the 1970s, Florida was home to several hundreds of black bears. Today the population has recovered to more than 4000 in some FWC calls One of the most successful memorization efforts in Florida. As a result of this population increase, the residents of Florida reported the views of black bears in the neighborhoods and property repeatedly, according to Associated Press.
After the FWC’s bear management program presented updates on Florida’s implementation 2019 Black Bear Management Plan Again in December, the committee is now considering re -fishing of the organization.
According to the plan, the goal of hunting organized bear is to “balance the population numbers with appropriate habitats and maintain healthy animals.” By controlling the number of bears in an area, the bear hunting can also reduce problem and/or dangerous confrontations with humans.
“Stand on your land,” said the New York Times, Mike Orlando, coordinator of the New York Times, said. “Make yourself look big. Talk to the bear in a calm way. Don’t run. Don’t play dead.”
If physical contact occurs, “you need to fight.”
