The ruler of the Federal Reserve, Christopher Waller, said on Monday that he expects the effects of President Donald Trump’s tariffs to be “transitional”, as it embraced a term that caused a problem in the last match during the last match of inflation.

“I can hear the howl that this should be a mistake by looking at what happened in 2021 and 2022. But just because he did not succeed once, it does not mean that you should not think this way again.”

Walller said that clarifying two scenarios for what the duties will eventually look like, and Waller said that the largest and longest definitions would bring a greater increase in inflation at the beginning to a range of 4 % to 5 % that would eventually recede with slowdown and unemployment increased. In the smaller tendency scenario, inflation will reach about 3 % and then fall.

He said that both cases still see that the Federal Reserve is lowering interest rates, as the timing was the only question. Waller added that the large definitions may force a reduction in growth support, while smaller duties may allow “good news” later this year.

“Yes, I say that I expect the high inflation to be temporary, and” temporarily “is another word to move,” he said. “Despite the fact that the last increase in inflation starting in 2021 it lasted for a longer period than that and other politicians expected at first, my best judgment is that the high inflation of definitions will be temporary.”

The “temporary” term is due to the high inflation in 2021, which is expected to reduce officials and many economists after the supply and demand chain related to Covid-19.

However, prices continued to rise, reaching its highest levels since the early 1980s and a series of dramatic increases were required. While inflation has declined significantly since the Federal Reserve began to increase 2022, it remains 2 % higher than the central bank. The Federal Reserve reduced the standard borrowing rate by a full percentage in late 2024, but has not been reduced this year.

Trump is appointed during the term of the first president, and Warr has used football to explain his views on “temporary” inflation. He cited the famous Philadelphia Eagles “Push Push”, which the team used to influence the positions of short lines and goal line.

He said: “You are the Philadelphia Eagles, which is the fourth below and a few inches from the goal line. “Since this has not succeeded in the way you expect, does this mean that you should not contact the tush pressure the next time you face a similar position? I don’t think so.”

The fate that Trump has any of two targets: to maintain high fees and reshape the economy, or use them as negotiating tactics. In the first case, he sees a growing growth “to crawl” while the unemployment rate rises “significantly.” If the definitions are negotiated, he sees that the effect on inflation is “much smaller”.

In the other case, he said that “one of the biggest shocks to influence the American economy for many decades” makes prediction and difficulty policy. Federal reserve officials will need “to stay” in the future track report.
