On Tuesday, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell indicated that asset prices, a category, usually include stocks and other risk tools, at high levels.

During a speech in Provence, Rod Island, the central bank leader was asked about the amount of focus he and his colleagues put on market prices and whether they have higher tolerance of higher values.

“We look at comprehensive financial conditions, and we ask ourselves whether our policies affect the financial conditions in some way we are trying to achieve them,” Powell said. “But you are right, through many measures, for example, stock prices are somewhat high.”

In the period before the policy meetings last week, shares and other assets increased strongly with the increasing condemnation that the Federal Open Market Committee will reduce the borrowing rate in the night stage. The shares continued to climb, which led to a series of standard highlands for the main averages, since the decision on Wednesday to reduce it by a quarter of a percentage.

“The markets are listening to us, tracking them and appreciating the place where they believe. Thus things will be valid,” Powell said in part of the conversation that deals with the mortgage rates.

Although Powell noticed the values of noble stocks, this is “not a time for the risks of high financial stability.”
