For the first time in football in English, semi -automated infiltration technology will be presented during the fifth round of the FA Cup.

On Thursday, the Football Association announced that this technology will be published in the seven matches that are held in the Premier League places.

Premier League clubs initially agreed to use technology for the 2024-25 season in April, with plans to enter in October 2024.

However, its implementation was postponed to allow an additional test, which increased pressure on officials this season.

The FA said: “After the successful direct operation in the UAE FA Cup, the Premier League will look forward to the implementation of the system later this season.

“The semi -automated infiltration technology will provide a more efficient position for the virtual infiltration line, based on the tracking of the optical player, and the production of virtual graphics to ensure an improved experience in the stadium and broadcast of supporters.

“The operation of the semi -automatic infiltration technology does not change the accuracy of making decisions, but it enhances the speed and efficiency of the process.”

UEFA approved for the first time the semi-automatic infiltration technique in the Champions League at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season.

In addition, VAR referees (VAR) will be referees for all the eight FA Cup matches, including the game in the Prestton Championship, where the referees will provide VAR ads in the stadium.

The fifth round matches will be held on the weekend of Saturday, March 1.

Giants Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, while holders Manchester UNITED, Rivals Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa are still in competition.
