The exporters are buried in the papers: The factory owner urges the Moody government to simplify the trade process

Rajan Bahsali, businessman and manager at TopSail Appliers PVT LTD-is a home appliance manufacturing company that focuses on exports-has raised concerns about the exhausting paper works that Indian exporters are required to manage, describing it as a “great obstacle” for the growth led by manufacturing.

Speaking of his experience in Podcast, Boussal said, “To export one container, we need to generate at least 17 to 18 documents.” These include commercial and tax bills, electronic trend bills, insurance papers, ads, and more. He asked about the need for this repetition, noting that “if the customer only needs an invoice and packing list, then why do we need many documents?”

“There, the vehicle can leave the factory with only two empty leaves. Here, the same process takes a long time to load the entire container,” added Bhosale, by comparing the process with the simplified system in China.

Bhosale also referred to the additional cost to employ staff only to deal with export documents. He said: “It is not just a waste of time-it is costly. The error in the leaves can stop treating the tax of goods and services, so each document must be verified.”

He urged the government to unify the documents process in lower and simplified models. “If this reaches Moody G, my request is to resolve this issue. Sources bring dollars to the country. We are strengthening the economy and we deserve a more efficient system.”
