The eleventh China joins Putin to review the day of victory, which aims to reassure the Russians with the continued Ukrainian conflict

Moscow – Countries in all parts of Europe celebrated the eighty anniversary of its founding on Thursday of Ve, or victory on Europe, to celebrate the moment in 1945 in which the fighting in World War II ended on the continent. But thanks to the time difference between Russia and Western Europe, Russia bears the procession of victory on May 9 of each year, and CBS News was invited to watch the scene in Moscow on Friday.

The show was months in planning, and closed the preparations and security measures that took the Central Moscow for several days before the event.

When it arrived on Friday, Moscow put the show – splendor of Russian forces from every branch of the military march in complete harmony, along with soldiers from the former Soviet republics and an amazing set of weapons.

There is even a guest from China, Russia’s ally is increasingly close. In the viewing position, President Vladimir Putin sat next to his guest of honor, Chinese President Xi Jinping. Brazil’s leader, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, was in the crowd.

On one level, the show was a celebration of Russia’s great victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

But it was also a political theater to the highest arrangement-with weapons by reminding the world that Russia is still a nuclear superpower.

There was a hug and shifts, too, with North Korean military officials, to show that the Russian leader is not very sensitive to his supporters.

In his speech, Putin alluded to UkraineWhile admitting that Russia is going through a “difficult moment, in its history”, but it gives little in the way of details about what he calls the “special military operation” of his country.

“All of you are on the front lines, they are our heroes,” he said.

The screen was supposed to strengthen that message, and because the Russian people reassure that the pride and title of their army was not crushed due to the grinding struggle on the western borders of Russia.

Over the past three years, tens of thousands of Russian soldiers have been killed, and the fighting has not shown any signs of abandonment.

Therefore, the show was celebrating the victory over an old enemy, but it is also distracted from the fact that any military victory over the new enemy seemed far away.

Nobody had been more comfortable because the event ended peacefully from President Putin himself, because the Ukrainian attacks – even in Moscow – pose a very real threat. The Ukrainian drones forced the airports around the Russian capital to close this week.
