The death toll from a multi -storey residential building in southern Pakistan has risen to 16 with searches continued to find survivors for the second day.
Six dead people were found after the building collapsed on Friday. Officials said on Saturday that the rescuers withdrew 10 other bodies of the rubble during one night operation.
The government -run civil hospital said in a statement that it had received 16 bodies, adding that many of the injured had been transferred to the hospital.

Rescuers use heavy machines to search for at least eight survivors believed to be trapped under the debris, according to local media and emergency.
The residents said that the building is located on a narrow street, which stopped efforts to bring in additional heavy equipment. TV footage showed rescue men who remove the debris as relatives of those who are still trapped and prayed for the safety of their loved ones.
The collapse in construction is common in Pakistan, where construction standards are often applied. Several structures are designed with sub -level materials, and safety regulations are often ignored to reduce costs.
In June 2020, a residential building collapsed in Karachi, the capital of the southern Sindh district, killing 22 people.
