Three Austrian nuns fled in the eighties of the retirement house, where they were placed and returned to their former monastery.

Sister Bernadet, 88, Sister Regeina, 86, and Sister Rita, 82, are the last three nuns in the Cleuster Goldinstein Monastery in Illbithin, outside Salzburg.

They recovered with the help of former students and Killsmith.

The church authorities are not happy – but the nuns.

Sister Rita said: “I am happy to be at home,” Sister Rita said. “I was always nostalgic home in the care home. I am very happy and thanks for the return.”

The trio says they were removed from the monastery against their will in December 2023.

Sister Bernadet said, “We did not ask.” “We had the right to stay here until the end of our lives and that was broken.”

When the nuns returned to Chalos Goldinstein, the monastery had no water or strength, but the school was still working

The three nuns spent most of their lives in Shalus Goldinstein, a castle that was a monastery and a school for private girls since 1877. The school, which started accepting boys in 2017, is still working.

Sister Bernadette joined the school herself, and she reached a teenager in 1948. One of her student colleagues was the Austrian cinematic actress Rumi Schneider.

Sister Regeina arrived in the monastery in 1958, and Sister Rita after four years.

The three went to work in school as teachers for many years. Sister Regeina was a director.

But the numbers of nuns diminished.

In 2022, the building was seized by Salzburg and Deir Rayersberg, and Augustine Monastery. Provost Marcos has become a jungle of the monastery, the head of the nuns.

Society was officially dissolved at the beginning of 2024, and the remaining nuns were granted the right to reside for life, as long as they allow their mental health and ability.

In December 2023, the decision was taken to transfer to a Catholic Care House, where they were not satisfied.

At the beginning of September, Sister Bernadette, sister Rita and Sister Regeina, returned with the help of a group of former students.

“I was obedient throughout my life, but it was too much,” said Sister Bernadette.

They mobilized some properties and returned to the monastery. The locks were changed to their previous apartments until a lock was called.

When they first arrived, there was no electricity or water.

In a statement, Provember Games said that the decision of the nuns to return to the monastery was “completely understood” and “escalation”.

“The rooms in the monastery are no longer used and do not meet in any way the appropriate care requirements,” he said.

He said that the nuns “unstable health conditions” mean that an independent living in the Deir Goldinstein is no longer possible. “

Girls said that the home of the elderly had provided them with “necessary, professional and very good medical care.”

He added that many of the nuns’s desires about the future of the monastery have taken into account, including the continuation of the school.

The three nuns settle in their previous home.

Electricity and water connections are now partially restored, as supporters bring food and grocery, and doctors have seen them.

There is a continuous flow of visitors, and many of them are their former students.

And one of them, Sufi, said that the nuns belonged to the monastery. “Goldinstein without nuns is not possible.”

“When they need us, they just have to contact us and we will be there, definitely. The nuns here have changed a lot of lives in a good way.”

Elisha, another student who said that the nuns are always known for the old disciples.

Instagram videos were published in the prayer, at the Mass, at lunch and the sharp stairs.

They say that their old stairs exploded after they were transferred.

The nuns say they are determined to stay.

Sister Bernadet said: “Before I die in the home of this elderly, I prefer to go to the Marj and enter the eternity in this way.”
