With Diwali’s tour in the corner, the cabinet is likely to approve a reward for railway employees. Government sources said today that the cabinet is likely to erase the proposal related to productivity at its next meeting.
The reward, which has extended to unprepared railway employees, aims to realize their contribution to the efficiency and performance of the Indian railway. Last year, nearly 11 employees received payments, enhancing morale and festive spending at the country level. A similar announcement this year is expected to lead to a similar ripples.
The timing is the key, as retailers and companies suffer from the strongest demand in this festive season, with the help of the recent discounts in the goods and services tax. The Railway Employees Bonus, which is a vast and semi -urban consumers base in India, can directly stimulate families’ consumption of electronics to clothes.
Economists note that these celebration payments have a broader multiple effect. With the supervision of inflation and policy support for consumer spending, the cash flow can maintain the momentum of demand in the last quarter of the year. Meanwhile, the government monitors consumption trends with the balance of financial wisdom with growth.
Earlier this month, many railway federations have sought an increase in the reward -related reward for employees every year before Dussehra and the issuance of the newspaper’s notification to form the eighth wage committee.
They also repeated their long -standing request to enhance the reward -related bonus. The Indian Railways Employees Union (IREF) said that the minimum payment to the productivity is presented on the minimum salary of $ 7,000 per month from the Sixth Wages Committee.
“However, under the seventh wage committee, the minimum salary is $ 18,000, which the railway employees receive from January 1, 2016,” said Sarvjet Singh, National Secretary -General, IREF, to PTI.
He added that the government, which pays the reward -related bonus on the basis of the minimum salary in the sixth wage committee is “absolute injustice.”
The All India Railwaymen (Airf) also called for an increase in the reward -related bonus, and said that the continuation of the monthly roof of $ 7,000 for its “fully unjustified” account and urgently requires reorganization with current wage structures and wages.
