The popular WWE NXT star recently stated that he may not be ready to be called up to the main roster. The superstar in question competed in the title match on WWE SmackDown last month.
Je’Von Evans was a guest on Black Raslin Podcast He discussed his future with the promotion. Evans said he was unsure if he was ready to join the main roster and noted that the company’s higher-ups knew what they were doing.
“Honestly I’m not sure. I feel like I can accomplish more. There were talks but I was, to this day I don’t know if I’m ready. And maybe it’s me doubting myself a little bit or being nervous. But I just know that Triple H and Nick Aldis, they know what they’re doing. Shawn knows what he’s doing. So if they see something and they feel like I’m ready, let’s just pick up the football and run with it,” he said.
The 21-year-old added that his goal is to become a better wrestler, and that could mean spending more time in NXT learning.
“My main goal is to be the best ever in wrestling. So I feel like that’s where it starts in NXT. So I want to learn as much as I can in NXT, so by the time I get to Raw or SmackDown, the transition is easy,” he added. (h/t: Wrestling fundamentalists)

Vince Russo claims WWE let Jevon Evans down
Wrestling icon Vince Russo recently pointed out the failure of Jevon Evans’ promotion.
Speaking at Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Broaddown Show, Russian He suggested that Evans had already become just another star on the roster After his exciting match against Sami Zayn last month on SmackDown.
“We got this Evans kid, and before we saw him, we should have gotten vignettes, we should have gotten an introduction, we should have gotten an understanding of who this guy is. But no, we didn’t get any of that. They put him on TV,” Russo said. “And he’s just another name on the list.”
It will be fascinating to see what the future holds for Jevon Evans in WWE and if he will be called up to the main roster anytime soon.
