Your guide to what the American elections 2024 mean to Washington and the world
The supreme federal public prosecutor in Manhattan, one of the strongest US law enforcement, has resigned, after an order from the Trump administration to drop the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams.
Daniel Sasson, veteran public prosecutor assumed the position of American lawyer for the southern region of New York in December in the ability to act, resigned, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Sasson has risen over the ranks for nine years in the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Manhattan, a part of a team that has been convicted and a 25 -year prison sentence from FTX Founder Sam Bankan for stealing billions of assets of encrypted currency exchange agents.
The US Department of Justice ordered the Manhattan Office to stop the Adams trial, which was accused last year of accepting the contributions of the illegal foreign campaign and making official provinces on behalf of the Turkish government.
“I follow the bases of the campaign and follow the law,” Adams previously said.
Jay Clayton, who led the US Securities and Stock Exchange Commission during the Trump administration, was nominated to lead the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Manhattan but has not yet been confirmed by the US Senate.
