The Amazfit Active 2 is here, with new sports modes, a barometer, and a price starting at $100

Wearable device maker Amazfit has revealed… Active 2 Smartwatch at CES on Monday, describing it as a long-lasting device suitable for a health-based lifestyle. With a price starting at $100, its price is considered high compared to smart watches from apple, Google and Samsung. This announcement also comes as Samsung recently announced that it would be bringing its $60 price tag Galaxy Fit 3 A fitness tracker has arrived in the US market, which also indicates that the tech giants are trying to attract consumers with cheaper prices.

The Amazfit Active 2 features a 1.32-inch round AMOLED display with up to 2,000 nits of brightness and a stainless steel body. The company says the battery lasts up to 10 days, which is noticeably longer than the battery life you get in watches like the Apple Watch Series 10 or Google Pixel Watch 3, even though those watches typically offer more advanced features. The watch includes Amazfit’s latest dual-LED 5PD biosensor, which the company claims can pick up more vital signs for better accuracy.

The Active 2 also adds a barometer for altimeter measurements, an accelerometer and gyroscope for sleep and motion recognition, and an ambient light sensor to improve the display under different lighting conditions and support additional sports like skiing. This brings the number of sports modes to more than 160.

The Zepp Coach integration provides personalized coaching and running plans, and a daily readiness score summarizes mental and physical recovery and shares insights.

Users can also take advantage of offline maps with turn-by-turn directions. It can be followed on screen, via the built-in speaker or through connected Bluetooth headphones.

Amazfit Active 2 is now available for pre-order in the US at Company websiteIt will be available globally in February through the Amazfit website and retail partners. Prices start at $100 for the Standard Edition, which comes with either a red or black silicone strap, and $130 for the Premium Edition, which comes with a black genuine leather strap and a sapphire glass display cover. The Premium Edition will also include a red silicone training strap.

The Amazfit Active 2 could be an ideal option for those who want a fitness tracker without having to pay for an expensive device like $399. Apple Watch Series 10 Or $300 Samsung Galaxy watch 7although these higher-priced devices have more premium features such as ECG and sleep apnea detection and usually offer better phone integration.
