City officials in Southport, North Carolina, “The active shooter” was late on Saturday in the Southaburt yacht basin.

The post said that the number of injuries is unknown at this time, but local reports indicate that there are many deaths.

City officials were urging residents to avoid the area, staying inside and informing a suspicious activity police.

The Bronzwek Sharif Provincial Office said it is helping to manage the police of Soutbort, along with multiple law enforcement agencies throughout the province.

Southport is located about 30 miles south of Wilmengton. The Southport Yacht Basin has many bars and restaurants, including American Fish Company.
